Plain labels and Ribbons – the powerful duo

Thermal transfer printing is a digital printing method in which material is applied to paper by melting a coating of ribbon. It contrasts with direct thermal printing, where no ribbon is present in the process. The process has been invented by Sato and the world’s first thermal-transfer label printer was produced in 1981. Thermal transfer is most commonly used for barcode labels for product and shipping identification.

We have decades of experience in the supply of thermal transfer ribbons, plain label manufacture and in advising and supplying thermal transfer label printing solutions.
