Since its inception over two decades ago on a rural farm in shropshire, CJ Wild Bird Foods has grown to become the global leader in the supply, design, and development of wild bird and wildlife feed products.

Originally conceived by renowned ornithologist Chris Whittles to provide and research a small range of seeds for wild birds, CJ Wild Bird Foods experienced rapid growth, eventually becoming responsible for many crucial innovations in the world of wildlife feeds.

Two such innovations were the introduction of many of todays common wild bird foods and the creation of new concepts in bird feeding such as high energy sunflower hearts and peanut cakes. With such a prestigious product line it was important for CJ Wild Bird Foods to find the right company to supply the self adhesive label printing services that would add the finishing touches to their lines. Additionally, they also needed a professional label application solution to apply the labels to their  products in order to get them ready for the gardens of numerous wildlife enthusiasts.

After approaching many competing companies it became evident to CJ Wild Bird Foods that Etiquette were the ideal choice to provide a complete solution for every stage of their labelling process. From the high quality production of the all-important front and reverse of pack labels to the manufacture and installation of bespoke label applicators to apply them, the streamlined approach offered by Etiquette meant that CJ Wild Bird Foods could rest assured that their product lines would be labelled, packed, and ready for despatch on time, every time.
 

With artwork supplied by CJ Wild Bird Foods, Etiquette was able to call upon two decades of industry expertise to manufacture printed labels that would not only add to the overall appearance of the final products but would also apply perfectly to their distinctive flow-wrap packaging. Printed UV Flexographic with a 7-colour process the labels are produced on gloss white synthetic film material to guarantee optimum application accuracy to the irregular surface of the packaging. Both UK and EU versions of the labels were created allowing CJ Wild Bird Foods to utilise a generic design on their packaging and drastically reduce the amount of stock holding.
 

Once the first run of printing was completed the finished labels were then trialled at Etiquette's own testing and demonstration department. Using 2 customised versions of the Etiquette Label X 250 Label Applicator, Etiquette's team of Engineers completed stringent quality control examinations and application runs to determine the best machine configuration for CJ Wild Bird Foods prior to installation. The final labelling system was then personally delivered and installed by Etiquette's engineers at CJ Wild Bird Foods impressive production facility where further quality checks were carried out and full operational training provided for staff.

The Label X 250 is a sophisticated and reliable stepper motor driven, microprocessor-controlled self adhesive label applicator for use on automated production lines. All major parts are constructed principally of stainless steel and anodized aluminium, making it robust for use in the harshest production environments. Stop/start, dispensing speed, dwell time, and labels dispensed counter are all standard features of the simple to use electronic control box, as is the facility to receive a signal from an encoder or similar device for speed synchronisation
