Types of hand labellers

Hand labellers can be classified for their size and capabilities. Some are very small and are designed only to print small characters on small products using tiny rolls of labels. There are other larger models that can be used to print larger labels with bigger characters. Another factor is the type of characters hand labellers can print. Some of them can print only numeric characters, while others can print alphanumeric characters. Most of them can print currency symbols. This is due to the fact that most models are also known as price guns, because their main functionality is to print prices onto products. Of course, there always will be rare currency symbols suitable only for certain countries.

This is why hand labellers must be built based on country specifications. Another important feature of these powerful tools is the number of lines they can print. Simple models can only print one line of characters, approximately composed from 4 to 30 numbers or letters. Other more sophisticated models of hand labellers can print two and even three lines of characters. Normally the first line is used to print the price of the products, with the currency symbol on the left side of the number, of course punctuation symbols like commas and dots are also included in most models. The second line is sometimes used to print the expiration date on products.

Of course there are products that don’t use this kind of date. This is used only in consumables. The third line is only used in special cases, where companies need to put emphasis on some information they want their customers to know. For example a discount percentage can be printed on the third line. As you can see you can find several models of hand labellers in the market, so before buying anything, just make sure to do an adequate research of the features you really need.
