Hand Labellers Overview

Hand Labellers are small hardware devices that serve well to companies in the retail and logistic sectors. Their main purpose is to attach small labels to products in a fast and convenient way. Employees load hand labellers with rolls of labels. The idea is that the prices of the items are printed on the fly, thanks to small numbers and symbols manipulated by the worker. There are several brands, models and prices of hand labellers available in the market today, so to choose the right one you need to invest some time in research and evaluations.

The first hand labellers appeared in the market in the sixties decade. So they have been with us for a very long time. Despite this fact, these small pieces of hardware are quite useful even today. Most retail chains use them in their daily operations. These devices are normally easy to operate and their light weights allow working with them for large periods of time without suffering severe injuries to the wrist.

There are several models of hand labellers in the market. They are grouped by the number of lines they can print on the labels. Devices can print from one to three lines. Devices that can print more lines are the most expensive, so if you intend to buy some model for your company, try first to asses how many lines you will need to print on the labels, normally you just need one line or maybe two, only in rare occasions you will need devices that can print three lines. Most retail chains only need to print the price and the date, but maybe you have another piece of data you want to show in the small labels. Nevertheless, it is not recommended to saturate such small labels with information, price needs to be clear to avoid confusions.
